About NON SHRINKABLE INSULATION TAPE
Gala Non Shrinkable Insulation Tape is an EPR based insulation tape possessing excellent electrical, chemical and physical properties. it maintains a tight insulation built up without any voids giving good electrical stability and resistance to moisture penetration. Compatible with most commonly used Cable Jackets i.e. XLPE, PVC, PILC or Rubber Sheathed Cable.

Features & Benefits:
- The tape has the property of cold flow, thereby when applied with 50% overlap, different layers, sticks with each other resulting into formation of void free insulation.
- Excellent resistance moisture, contamination and adverse environmental conditions.
- Excellent UV stabilized & weather resistant.
- High heat dissipation helps to keep the conductor cooler.
- Provides protection to the conductor material againstcorrosive elements present in the environment.
- Standard Color: Black
Installation Instructions:
- Keep open end of the tape on the start position of the cable to be insulated and then stretch the tape so as to reduce the width to 2/3 of its original width and then start wrapping 2/3 width tape with 50% overlap continuously around the cable till no portion is left uninsulated. Then repeat the taping process till the desired insulation & thickness is achieved.
- The tape should be applied in successive half lapped, level wound layers until desired build up is reached. To eliminate voids in critical areas, highly elongate the tape. Stretch the tape in these critical area just short of its breaking point. In less critical area, less elongation is sufficient. Stretch 3/4 of its original width in less critical area.
- Always attempt to half lap to produce a uniform build up.
Recommendations:
- Care should be taken to avoid direct contact betweenthe tape and petroleum type solvents and oils. Oils may affect the electrical properties of the tape.
- The rolls should be stored flat on their cut edges in theoriginal packaging. The product must be protected dust, heat, moisture, direct sunlight and solvent fumes. Storage temperature between +100C and +300C. Under these conditions, the storage life of the tape in a temperature climate will be at least five years.
Reliable Electrical InsulationBenefit from advanced PVC insulation tape engineered for high voltage electrical work, general wiring, and robust cable protection. Its smooth, glossy finish and excellent moisture resistance ensure your connections remain reliable and secure, even in demanding environments.
Built to Withstand the ElementsThis insulation tape demonstrates excellent resistance to water, acids, alkalis, and oils, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. Its flame-retardant properties and wide temperature range ensure reliability where safety is essential.
User-Friendly Application & StorageThe tape is self-adhesive and manually installed, providing a secure and hassle-free wrap around wires and cables. For best performance, store in a cool, dry, dust-free space, away from sunlight, and follow the 0oC to 50oC storage temperature recommendation.
FAQ's of NON SHRINKABLE INSULATION TAPE:
Q: How should I properly apply the non shrinkable insulation tape for optimal adhesion?
A: Ensure the surface is clean and dry before applying the tape manually. For best results, wrap the tape tightly around the wire or cable, overlapping each layer. The strong adhesive is designed for use on steel and other electrical surfaces.
Q: What types of environments and applications is this insulation tape suitable for?
A: With its excellent water, chemical, and flame resistance, the tape is ideal for electrical, automotive, household, and industrial insulation needs, including cable and wire protection in demanding environments.
Q: When should the insulation tape be replaced or checked for performance?
A: It is recommended to periodically inspect applied tape for integrity, especially if exposed to harsh conditions. As long as the tape maintains its adhesion and insulation properties, it will perform as intended. Replace if it shows signs of wear or degradation.
Q: Where should I store the insulation tape to maintain its shelf life and adhesive properties?
A: Store the tape in a cool, dry, dust-free area, away from direct sunlight, and within a temperature range of 0C to 50C. Following these guidelines will help ensure its 24-month shelf life from the date of manufacture.
Q: What are the key benefits of using this non shrinkable insulation tape over other types?
A: This tape combines high dielectric strength, flame retardancy, flexibility, and strong adhesion on steel. Its chemical and moisture resistance, along with RoHS compliance, make it a safe, reliable, and versatile solution for diverse insulation and protection applications.
Q: Is the tape compliant with environmental and safety standards?
A: Yes, the insulation tape is RoHS compliant, meeting key health, safety, and environmental protection standards required for electrical and industrial products.
Q: Can this tape be used on high-voltage applications and what temperatures can it withstand?
A: Absolutely. The tape is rated for electrical insulation up to 600 V and can function in environments from -10C to 80C, making it suitable for most general high-voltage wiring and cable protection tasks.
