About Branch Off Clip for Heat Shrink Cable Joints and Closures (GBOC)

A heat-shrink sleeve seals well around one cable, but when two cables leave the same end of a sleeve or the same closure port, the sleeve cannot close the gap between them and water can track in. The branch-off clip solves that.

The clip is pushed over the end of the sleeve between the two cables, so its legs press the sleeve walls together and divide the end into two branches, one for each cable. Its inner surface carries a hot-melt adhesive insert. When the sleeve is heat-shrunk, the adhesive melts at the same time as the sleeve recovers, bonding the sleeve walls together between the cables and forming a moisture-resistant seal around both.

The clip holds the branch cables securely in position, gives a uniform branch-off seal, and is quick to install. It is designed for telecom cable jointing and works with heat-shrink sleeves and branch-off joints; it is also included in Gala's fibre optic closure cable entry sealing kit.

Three sizes are offered, GBOC 1, 2 and 3, from 64 mm to 125 mm overall length, chosen by the size of sleeve and cables. All dimensions are held to +/-5%.
