About Thin Wall Heat Shrink Tube 3:1 High Shrink Ratio (GSC 3X)

GSC 3X is the high-shrink-ratio member of Gala's thin-wall tube family. Where the standard GSC tube recovers to half its supplied diameter, GSC 3X recovers to one third, so one size can pass over a connector, lug or bulky splice and still shrink tightly onto the much thinner wire behind it. That makes it handy for irregular shapes and lets users stock fewer sizes.

The tube is flexible cross-linked polyolefin. It is used for light-duty wire harnessing in electrical and electronic equipment, insulation and protection of in-line components, strain relief at wire connections, busbar insulation in switchgear, and colour coding of wires, terminals and components.

Seventeen sizes run from GSC 3X 1.5/0.5 to GSC 3X 100.0/33.0, with recovered walls from 0.45 to 2.60 mm. Small sizes come on 200 m or 100 m spools and larger sizes on 50 m or 25 m spools. Colours are black, white, yellow, red, blue, green, clear and yellow/green.

Pick a size whose supplied diameter passes over the largest part of the job and whose recovered diameter is below the smallest part; then shrink it with heat.
