About Thin Wall Heat Shrink Tube for 150 C Applications (GSCT)

GSCT is the high-temperature grade of Gala's thin-wall tube family. It behaves like the standard GSC tube - a flexible cross-linked polyolefin tube with a 2:1 shrink ratio - but is rated for continuous operation at up to 150 deg C instead of 125 deg C. That suits wiring and components in locations that run hotter than standard 125 deg C tube allows.

Typical uses are light-duty wire harnessing in electrical and electronic equipment, insulating and protecting in-line components, strain relief at wire connections, busbar insulation in switchgear, and colour coding of wires, cables, terminals and components. Gala also states good resistance to fluids and solvents. Electrical insulation is rated up to 1.1 kV.

The 19 sizes follow the common inch series, from GSCT 1.2/0.6 (3/64 inch) up to GSCT 152.4/76.2 (6 inch); the code gives supplied and recovered inside diameter in mm. Recovered walls run from 0.33 to 1.17 mm. Small sizes are supplied on 200 m spools, mid sizes on 100 m or 50 m, and the largest on 25 m. Colours are black, white, yellow, red, blue, green and yellow/green.
