About Vented Thin Wall Heat Shrink Tube for Anchor Bolts (GLC-SV)

When an ordinary heat-shrink tube is shrunk over a long bolt or a bend, air gets trapped under it and leaves bubbles and wrinkles. Gala's Vented Thin Wall Tube (GLC-SV) solves that with fine longitudinal grooves moulded into its inner wall. As the tube shrinks, trapped air escapes along the grooves, so the tube lies flat and wrinkle-free over the full length, without grease or any other lubricant.

The tube is a flexible cross-linked polyolefin with a 2:1 shrink ratio, black as standard. GSF states good resistance to chemicals and copper corrosion and good abrasion resistance.

Its main job is corrosion protection of fasteners: anchor bolts in wind-turbine foundations, U-bolts on pipe supports, and automotive parts. Shrunk over the bolt, the tube keeps moisture away from the steel.

Eight sizes run from GLC-SV 20/10 to GLC-SV 70/35, with recovered walls of 0.78 to 1.10 mm. The first figure is the supplied inside diameter and the second the recovered inside diameter, both in mm. Tube is supplied on 100 m, 50 m or 25 m spools, or as 1.2 m cut lengths packed 10 to 65 per box.
