About Thin Wall Heat Shrink Tube 3:1 Commercial Grade (GLC3)

GLC3 is Gala's commercial-grade thin-wall heat-shrink tube with a 3:1 shrink ratio. Heated, it recovers to a third of its supplied diameter, so one size can pass over a bulky connector or component and still grip the thinner wire or cable behind it. That makes it useful wherever a 2:1 tube would need two sizes or would not fit over the largest part.

It provides electrical insulation and protection for in-line components, light-duty wire harnessing in electrical and electronic equipment, and strain relief where wires meet terminals and connectors. The tube is flexible and resists common chemicals, copper corrosion and fungus.

Seven sizes run from GLC-3-9.0/3.0 to GLC-3-50.0/17.0. The code gives the supplied and recovered inside diameter in mm; recovered walls run from 0.75 mm to 1.15 mm on most sizes, and 2.50 mm on the largest. Standard colours are black, white, yellow, red, blue and green, and every size is supplied on 25 m spools. Shrinking starts at 125 deg C; use a hot-air tool or a gentle torch flame. To choose a size, the supplied diameter must pass over the largest part and the recovered diameter must be smaller than the smallest part.
