Cable splice and jointing assemblies often need a band clamp to hold a component, sleeve or earthing connection firmly around the cable. Gala supplies worm-drive band clamps for this, as accessories for its jointing kits and on their own.
Each clamp has three parts. The band carries a thread pattern that starts at the free end and runs far enough for the clamp to tighten onto the smallest diameter in its working range. The screw is held captive in the housing, so it cannot drop out on site, and the housing is fixed to the band and is not readily removable. Clamps are made in stainless steel; any clamp made from a material that is not corrosion resistant is electroplated to protect it.
Tightening needs only a screwdriver or nut driver, and the clamp can be loosened and re-used. Besides cable jointing, the same clamps suit hoses, ducts, flexible conduits and sleeves wherever a strong, adjustable band clamp is needed.
Sizes are chosen by the diameter range to be clamped; ask for the range you need.
