About 11 kV Outdoor Termination Kit for 3 Core XLPE Cable - Heat Shrink

The Gala GXO-11 to GXO-15 kits terminate 3-core XLPE or EPR insulated, shielded cable outdoors on 6.35/11 kV systems, at overhead line poles, outdoor substations, transformers and outdoor switchgear. The kit controls the electric stress where the cable screen ends, protects each core against tracking and weather, and seals the breakout and lugs against moisture.

Each core gets a stress control tube, a red non-tracking weather-resistant tube and rain sheds; a non-tracking breakout seals the crutch; terminal sleeves and lug sealing tape seal the lugs. Earthing sets for the armour (tinned copper braid, back-up ring, jubilee clamp) and for the metallic screen (small braid, solder, flux) are included, with terminal lugs, mastics and installation aids. Kits are made for a 600 mm standard tail; special tail lengths are available on request.

Five kit codes cover cable sizes from 16-35 sq mm to 400-500 sq mm. For 11/11 kV (unearthed) cable, use the 22 kV class kit instead.

The 11 kV kit family (outdoor code GXO-13) was type tested to IEC 60502-4 at VEIKI-VNL, Hungary, in 2023 and found to fulfil the standard (certificate 13222/VNL). Gala's 11 kV terminations and joints carry a DCRP Oman product approval (valid to Feb 2030), and Gala holds POWERGRID and MECON approvals for kits up to 33 kV and an EIL enlistment for kits up to 11 kV.

Installation is with a gas torch, following the illustrated instructions in every kit.
