About 22 kV Termination Kit for 3 Core XLPE Cable - Indoor and Outdoor

The Gala GXO/E-1524 kits terminate 3-core XLPE or EPR insulated, shielded cable in the 24 kV equipment class. One kit range covers three common cable ratings: 12.7/22 kV, 8.7/15 kV and 11/11 kV, which is the right class for unearthed 11 kV networks. Outdoor kits (GXO) are for poles, outdoor substations and transformer bushings; indoor kits (GXE) are for switchgear, RMU and transformer cable boxes.

Each core gets a stress control tube to grade the field at the screen cut and a red non-tracking weather-resistant tube; rain sheds increase creepage on outdoor kits, and indoor kits carry one rain shed per core. A non-tracking breakout seals the crutch, terminal sleeves and lug sealing tape seal the lugs, and armour and screen earthing sets, terminal lugs, mastics and installation aids complete the kit. Standard tail lengths are 800 mm outdoor and 550 mm indoor; special lengths are available on request.

Four kit codes cover cable sizes from 16-50 sq mm to 240-400 sq mm, each in an outdoor and an indoor version.

Gala holds a POWERGRID manufacturer approval and a MECON vendor registration for cable jointing and termination kits up to 33 kV.

Installation is with a gas torch, following the illustrated instructions supplied in every kit. Typical buyers are utilities' contractors, EPC firms and industrial plants running 22 kV or unearthed 11 kV networks.
