About Cold Shrink De-Gassing End Cap with Relief Valve (GCCE RV)

Cable in storage or transport, especially in hot climates, can build up gas inside it. A plain end cap traps that gas. The Gala de-gassing end cap (GCCE RV) is a cold shrink EPDM rubber cap with a brass non-return relief valve set into its closed end: when pressure inside the cable rises, the valve opens and releases the gas, and because it is non-return it does not let moisture, water or dirt back in. Gala's sheet positions it for high voltage cable, 33 kV and above.

The cap body, sizes and fitting are the same as Gala's standard cold shrink end cap. It is supplied expanded on a removable spiral core: cut the cable end square, clean and degrease it, place the cap over the outer sheath, then pull out the spiral core so the rubber recovers onto the cable. No torch, tools, mastic or tape are needed.

Five sizes cover cable outside diameters from 13 mm to 80 mm.
