About Cold Shrink Tube - Silicone Rubber for LT Cable Joints (GCTS)

Gala silicone cold shrink tube (GCTS) is an open-ended silicone rubber sleeve, expanded at the factory and held on a removable spiral core. Like Gala's EPDM tube, it insulates and seals inline connectors and terminal lugs on low voltage cable up to 1.1 kV, copper or aluminium conductor, but in silicone rubber. The compound contains no chloride or sulphur.

Installation needs no heat and no tools. Slide the tube onto the cable, make the connection or fit the lug, centre the tube over the area to be sealed and pull the spiral core out. As the core unwinds, the tube recovers onto the cable and connector and forms a water-resistant seal.

Each tube is 500 mm long. Nine sizes cover cable and connector outside diameters from 8 mm to 72 mm, with a 2.1 mm wall on the smaller sizes and 3.0 mm on the larger.
