About PVC Terminal Insulation Cap for Cable Lugs (TERMICAP TCV)

TERMICAP is Gala's flexible PVC insulating cap for wire-end terminals and cable lugs crimped onto power cables. Once a lug is crimped, its barrel and the bare conductor next to it are left exposed. The cap slips over the crimp and the end of the cable insulation, insulating the bare metal and protecting it against accidental contact.

The caps are made in blue, yellow, red, black, white and green, so they also serve to identify phases, neutral and earth at a glance in panels, switchboards, motor terminal boxes and distribution boards. They are pushed on by hand and need no heat or tools.

Twelve standard sizes, TCV 12 to TCV 3251, cover narrow-end diameters from 3.2 mm to 30 mm and lengths from 15 mm to 79 mm, so the range takes small control-wire terminals through to large power-cable lugs. Each cap is a stepped cylinder: a narrow closed section over the lug barrel and a wider section over the cable insulation. Gala also develops custom sizes, shapes and colours to the customer's requirement.
